My Passion
People mistakenly assume I chose the career as a doula because of my passion for babies. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE babies. My true passion though, is supporting women and their partners in achieving a satisfying birth. I wish for parents to feel empowered and confident in caring for their newborn and I am very passionate about promoting the importance of self-care after the birth and for the parents to bond with their babies.
My Story
I’m a small town girl from Denmark, and in my early twenties I ended up on a vacation in Calgary. I fell in love with the city and I fell in love with the kindness and warmth of the Canadian people. It felt like home. A few years after immigrating to Calgary, I once again fell in love, this time with my now husband, with whom I today have two amazing daughters. I knew becoming a mom would change my life, but I never would have imagined that my birth experiences would pave the way from being a professional in the Oil & Gas Service Industry to becoming a Birth and Postpartum Doula.
